The Third Annual San Jose Grand Prix

The Third Annual San Jose Grand Prix took place last July 27-29 in San Jose downtown.
At 5 minutes driving distance from our place, we were able to hear the roaring engines and to smell the car racing!
This three days event in our Silicon Valley Capital City ended with the Champ Car finale on Sunday 29th July, and we were present!
I am proud to say that the first two Champ Car races in San Jose were won by the French Sebastien Bourdais. Unfortunately this year, the Dutch Robert Doornbos was faster...

We spent a nice afternoon, walking around the 1.443 mile of the raceway with roaring engines, rubbing smell and sensations! Those 'things' can go up to 160 miles/hour and this is really fast when you see it for real. It is hard to say the color of the cars when you see the race from so close...
Also, we were happy we brought our earplugs! After half an hour, headache is guaranteed! And with all that rubber dust and smoke, we were so relieved to take a shower once at home....

The best part, I must say, was the after-competition Drifting show. This is really where all the fun is. Check my video:
